Back Nine of Christmas: Day 2
11th Hole at Shinnecock Hills
Presenting a challenge far beyond its short distance, Hole 11 at Shinnecock Hills can frustrate even the most seasoned PGA Tour player.
An uphill tee shot can land you in one of four deep bunkers in front of the green, or if you overshoot your mark, a large sloping run-off area behind the green lies in wait. It’s devilishly easy for your next shot to wind up in a worse position from where you started, leading some to call this hole “the shortest par 5 in golf.”
