Sam Stevens | 123rd U.S. Open
Straight Down will be at the U.S. Open in more ways than one. Our official 123rd U.S. Open products will be available in the merchandise tent at Los Angeles Country Club (as well as on our website), and will be worn by one of the U.S. Open’s competitors, Sam Stevens.
Sam is in the midst of a successful rookie season on the PGA Tour that includes a runner-up finish at the Texas Open and third-place finish in the Dominican Republic. He is 57th in the PGA Tour’s FedExCup standings.
This is the second consecutive year that Sam is playing the U.S. Open. He finished T49 last year in one of his first weeks as a Straight Down ambassador. He also made the cut in this year’s PGA Championship, which shows that he fares his best in the toughest conditions. We’ve enjoyed following Sam’s career and his progression to the PGA Tour.
He tracks his career in the Notes app on his phone, a practice that he said helps him learn from his results and keeps him grounded.
“I want to stay grateful,” he said. “And I want to just appreciate, you know, everything that I get to do out here.”
We’re grateful that Sam chooses to wear Straight Down and represent us in the biggest tournaments in golf.
