Job Description
Straight Down | San Luis Obispo, CA | On-site
Straight Down is a premium golf apparel brand built for people who take their game (and their style) seriously. We're scaling our ecommerce business toward a $10M+ growth target on Shopify Plus, and we're looking for an Ecommerce Manager to own the engine behind straightdown.com.
This is a hands-on operating role. You'll be the person who turns strategy into execution: what's live on the site, how it performs, and whether every asset that touches a customer is ready to ship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day direction of straightdown.com as a sales tool: homepage, collection pages, and the path from landing page to checkout
- Merchandising across every collection page: product sequence, sold-out handling, badges, filters, and cross-sell logic
- A weekly site calendar that ties together launches, promotions, campaign landing pages, and email/SMS sends
- Site performance: uptime, page speed, Core Web Vitals, checkout reliability, and the relationship with our development partner
- The technical standards every creative asset has to clear before it goes live
- Weekly and monthly reporting on conversion, AOV, email capture, and channel performance
- Coordination across Klaviyo flows, the promotional calendar, and our growth and creative partners
Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of Shopify Plus, including theme and app management
- Comfort with GA4, Klaviyo dashboards, and basic data analysis
- Working knowledge of ecommerce compliance and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA)
- A highly organized, detail-oriented operating style. You run calendars and partner handoffs without dropping the ball
- Strong written communication. You can write a clean brief and a usable standards doc
- Comfort working with AI tools in a professional context: you know what to prompt, what to verify, and what to push back on
This role currently reports to the COO, with the reporting line moving to a Marketing leader once that hire is in place.
