Ambassador Sam Steven's Masters Debut
Traditions define the first major of the year. An annual return to one of golf’s iconic venues imbues this rite of spring with extra significance. For families that share a passion for this game, every April is especially meaningful. Generations gather to watch history be made and pass on their passion for this game.
This is a special week every April. For Straight Down ambassador Sam Stevens, this year will be especially significant. That’s because he will be making his Masters debut.
“I grew up watching this event religiously every year, so to be able to tee it up against the best players in the world at a tournament with so much history will be very special,” Sam said. “I’ll be enjoying every moment.”
He won’t be the only one. Whether competing or spectating from afar, the first full week in April is one of the greatest on the golf calendar. Straight Down’s The Season Opener collection features a variety of polos, outerwear, pants, shoes and accessories in the hues and shades that define the season.
Sam comes from a golfing lineage, one that has appreciated the April traditions for many years. Both his grandfather, Johhny, and father, Charlie played professional golf. Now they’ll accompany Sam to Augusta for his first Masters.
“My dad and grandpa have been my coaches since I was a kid. Having watched this event with them for so long, it will be really special for them to be at Augusta with me,” said Sam, who said that his oldest son also may be his caddie in the traditional par-3 contest. Four generations of Stevens men will get to enjoy this landmark week for Sam, who qualified for the Masters by finishing 2025 in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Ranking.
“I’ve put a lot of my life into my golf game over the years,” Sam said. “To get this opportunity really shows me that the hard work has paid off.”
At Straight Down, we congratulate Sam for his incredible success and can’t wait to cheer him on.
