Straight Down would like to congratulate ambassador Tim Widing for earning his first Korn Ferry Tour victory on Sunday. The win puts Widing one step closer to playing the PGA Tour in 2025.
Widing moved to second on the Korn Ferry Tour’s points list after his win. The top 30 at season’s end earn PGA Tour cards for the following season.
“I'm speechless,” Widing said afterward. “It's something I've practiced for every day and something you dream of, and for it to finally happen. … It's a relief to finally pull it off. You keep telling yourself that you're very close, but winning golf tournaments is really tough and I'm just so happy I was able to pull it off. This is incredible.”
Widing finished at 20-under 264, then won a three-man playoff for the title. He shot rounds of 67-64-67-66 – including three birdies in his last six holes Sunday – to earn a spot in the playoff. Then he took advantage, winning with a par on the second extra hole.
Widing, 26, is in his second season on the Korn Ferry Tour. He turned pro in 2021 after a successful college career at the University of San Francisco, where he was an honorable mention All-American in 2020. He finished a solid 46th on the points list last year as a rookie. He is on an upward progression toward the PGA Tour, and we are excited to support Tim as he pursues his dream!
