Back-to-Back: Steven Alker Is on a Roll

Steven Alker is on a run.

The Straight Down ambassador has won back-to-back starts on PGA Tour Champions, capturing the Rogers Charity Classic in Calgary and following it one week later with a three-shot victory at The Ally Challenge in Michigan. The wins give Alker three victories in 2026 and 13 for his PGA TOUR Champions career.

And he’s doing it the way Steven Alker has always done it: with consistency, composure and a belief that he can find a way to get the job done.

Alker started Sunday’s final round of The Ally Challenge two shots behind Michael Block, but a closing 4-under 68 propelled him to a three-shot victory over Retief Goosen. Alker took control of the tournament on the back nine, making four consecutive birdies on Nos. 12-15 to pull away from the pack. It was a stretch that showed why Alker has been so dominant on PGA Tour Champions, where he has won multiple titles in four of the past five seasons.

“To have these back-to-back weeks is super special,” Alker said. “It’s just nice to get it done down the stretch.”

The victories have also pushed Alker back into the thick of the Charles Schwab Cup race. But perhaps more importantly, they have given him something every player searches for: momentum.

“I think momentum is huge in this game,” Alker said, “and what I've done the last couple weeks has definitely helped that.”

At the Rogers Charity Classic, Alker fired a 9-under 61 in the second round before closing with a 65 to force a playoff with Y.E. Yang. He then rolled in a seven-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to claim the title.

“It was very pleasing,” Alker said afterward. “I was behind the 8 ball and it took a while to get back.”

At 55, Alker continues to prove that his best golf is still plenty good enough to compete—and win—against the best players on PGA TOUR Champions.

Two weeks. Two trophies.

And Alker doesn't appear to be slowing down as the season hits its home stretch.
